Oklahoma State Football Schedule for 2024 Released

Tuesday’s schedule for Oklahoma State football in 2024 was released, and it includes home games against South Dakota State, Arkansas, Utah, West Virginia, Arizona State, and Texas Tech.

Only two home games are scheduled after October 5; the remaining four of Oklahoma State’s six home games will be played within the first six weeks of the season.

In 2024, the Cowboys will revisit the series against a number of well-known opponents: Tulsa, Texas Tech, Colorado, Arkansas, Baylor, and TCU. Three of the four new teams to the Big 12 Conference are also opponents of OSU, which travels to Colorado and hosts Utah and Arizona State.

2024 Oklahoma State Football Schedule Announced

For the first time since 1980, Oklahoma State and Arkansas will play on September 7. It restarts a series that started in 1912 and has already seen 46 games, including 19 straight matches from 1962 to 1980 and 32 games in 38 years from 1943 to 1980. Only the 10th meeting between the clubs has taken place in Stillwater; other matchups have also included games in Little Rock, Fort Smith, and Fayetteville. Arkansas is the closest FBS programme to Stillwater, aside from in-state rivals Tulsa and Oklahoma, at just 181 miles away.

The Cowboys visit Tulsa for the first time since 2019 on September 14 in an attempt to win the series for a record 10 times in a row, capping up the non-conference schedule. This season is the first that the Gateway Turnpike Classic will be played for eight consecutive seasons.

On September 21, OSU will play its first-ever home game against Utah in Big 12 play. The lone prior meeting was won away by the Cowboys, 46–6, in 1945 during their perfect AFCA national championship campaign. Mike Gundy and Kyle Whittingham, two of the three current FBS head coaches with the highest tenure, square off in this game. Both coaches have been in charge of their respective programmes for 20 years.

The Cowboys’ first conference road trip of the season is scheduled for September 28 against Kansas State, taking them into more comfortable territory. One week later, OSU plays host to West Virginia, a team that finished the season with the most wins since 2016.

On November 2, Arizona State, a conference newcomer, will make its second return to Stillwater in three years, marking America’s Greatest Homecoming. This year marks both OSU’s third consecutive encounter with ASU and their sixth meeting overall between the two programmes.

Six days later, on Black Friday, Oklahoma State will make their first visit to Colorado since 2008. This is the regular season finale. With 47 games played in between the programmes, it renews a series. In addition, it’s Oklahoma State’s first-ever Black Friday game.

On Saturday, December 7, the Big 12 Championship Game will take place at Arlington’s AT&T Stadium. Two of the previous three Big 12 championship games have been secured for the Cowboys.
